The Alaska Comprehensive Health Insurance Association (ACHIA) was created by the Alaska State Legislature to provide access to health insurance coverage to all residents of the state who are unable to obtain individual health insurance or Medicare and meet certain eligibility requirements. The board of directors of the association consists of seven individuals who serve 3 year terms. An Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director oversee the day-to-day operations of the Pool.
